Darlene Tallman, who tragically lost her son by a violent act of homicide, is looking to stress the importance of good, smart decision-making in a presentation hosted by the Cayuga County Cornell Cooperative Extension on Nov. 8.
Tallman, who works within the Independent Livings Skills Program funded by the Cayuga County Health and Human Service Agency, will talk about “Good Choices” and how many young children today make harmful choices - engaging in drugs and violence, for instance - that not only affects them, but their family, friends and the community.
The presentation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium on the lower level of 248 Grant Ave., Auburn.
Cornell Cooperative Extension invites young people from families and local human service agencies, ages 12 and above, to attend the session.
Because of the traumatic nature of the subject matter, the Cornell Cooperative Extension believes it is important that families and agencies have someone available to all youth to discuss and follow-up on the messages contained in the presentation.
Cornell Cooperative Extension asks interested people to reserve seats.
Reservations can by made by contacting Jeannie Baker at 255-1183 by Nov. 5.
