AUBURN - Communities statewide will soon get to decide if their 4-year-olds need regular schooling. A new state law aimed at giving 4-year-olds an educational leg up is allowing school districts to create pre-kindergarten classes. The five-year plan to prepare children for kindergarten is called long overdue by several child-care experts. “We have data showing 20 to 40 percent of children in this county are not ready for kindergarten,” said Mary Driscoll, executive director of the Child Care Council of the Finger Lakes.

David Oester of Nevada, a director of the International Ghost Hunters Society, who seeks out the paranormal, says it's sad that people immediately jump to the conclusion that ghosts are evil.
