Police are currently investigating a robbery and assault that took place in Auburn last weekend.
According to the Auburn Police Department, officers were dispatched at 1:30 a.m. Saturday to the area of James and Orchard streets for reports of an intoxicated male. When they arrived, officers found a 50-year-old Auburn man who appeared to be intoxicated and had apparently been robbed of cash and assaulted on the street, officials said.
The responding officer observed four people flee the area on foot and run to the rear of 16 Orchard St., police said. Police officials and a K9 dog tracked the subjects to the area of 161 Genesee St., but were unable to locate them.
The suspects were described as four men wearing dark, baggy clothing, according to officials.
The victim was transported to Auburn Memorial Hospital and treated for facial injuries.
