Accident in Auburn causes delays

A three-vehicle collision tied up traffic in Auburn Monday afternoon.

According to Auburn police, a vehicle traveling east on Seymour Street collided with a vehicle traveling west on the same road when the first driver attempted to make a left hand turn onto North Lewis Street. After it was hit, the second vehicle spun and collided with a third vehicle stopped at the intersection, police said.

Two of the people involved were transported by ambulance to Auburn Memorial Hospital after complaining of pain, according to police. No citations or arrests were made at the scene, and police are still investigating the accident.

The incident caused traffic to be backed up until the scene was cleared a half-hour later, police said.
