I am a resident of the town of Owasco. Like so many other residents of our town, I am disheartened by the many problems that seem to be surfacing these days. Many of the problems are long-standing and some are more recent, but they all undermine the credibility and performance of many of our current town officials.

More disheartening is not being told what the specific issues are. The lack of information as to who and what is being investigated by the State Police and Comptroller's Office is preventing residents of Owasco from making informed decisions about their future leadership.

I think it is very necessary to consider carefully whom we are going to vote for in the upcoming election. I am impressed with the Republican nominees and I think people like Ellie Beck will bring some very valuable business acumen to a town in need of strong, organized financial leadership. It is also time to get new energy and new ideas into our town hall. Owasco needs leaders with the education, unique experiences and conviction to rectify the problems of the past and plan for our future.

Above all, we need leaders who are willing to work closely with the people of our town and are open about what transpires in town government.

Please be sure to get out and vote and let's improve the leadership in Owasco.
