Men between the ages of 30 and 40 years old and boys between the ages of 18 and 21 should hold themselves in readiness to form a part of the American army. According to advice from Washington, Congress will be asked to immediately upon reconvening to include men from 18 to 40 in the selective service.

AUBURN - Bill Jones is a wanted man again after failing to appear Friday for sentencing on felony gun charges. County Judge Peter Corning pushed Jones' sentencing off to the last possible moment. Time finally ran out. Jones was nowhere to be found.

AUBURN - With just 12 days left before voters decide who will be the next governor, the floodgates have opened on the negative television ads. But when Emily Pataki, the oldest daughter of two-term Republican George Pataki, visited the senior citizens at Schwartz Towers during their lunch Friday, the tone was much sweeter. That's because the 23-year-old Pataki charmed the crowd with her poise, smile and plenty of chocolates.
