The hitching posts in front of the Auburn Schine Theater look pretty nice. I can't wait to see the horses hitched up to them.
Would it be possible for the town of Venice Center to put up a water tower like other small towns. It would be worth the tax money to have the pipes like Genoa.
Guy Cosentino, Chuck Mason and Kate Lacey have continually tried to deceive the public in regards to the brawl at city Hall, when in reality Dave Dempsey just tried to defend himself. Not only did Lattimore lose face, he also got a black eye and then went whining to The Citizen to hang out the dirty laundry.
I object to the column in the paper about absentee homeowners. Homeowners don't destroy the property, it is the people that come in who don't pay the rent, then call the code enforcement after they trash the place.
I hope you enjoy your bacon, sausage, eggs, milk, burgers and steak. Mmmm, all those artificial growth hormones and antibiotics sure make my mouth water.
Shame on the Auburn school district's athletic department for playing such extremely loud music before every sporting event at Holland Stadium. This noise pollution displays not only an obvious disrespect for those living near the stadium but also a blatant disregard for the noise pollution ordinances.
On my God, how many phone books are we going to get in a year's time. I think they should start saving paper on something else.
Quill's first official act as mayor is to bring back the Human Rights Commission. I heard him say it at the last debate - that alone wins my vote.
It took Joe Torre a few years but he finally realized what almost all baseball followers have known for quite a while - that the Yankees are a classless organization and deserve no respect at all.
What a show - another fine example set by Mr. Lattimore and Mr. Dempsey at the debate. Thank you Mr. Quill for being a professional while these two make idiots of themselves.
I'm sure many people have read in the paper about the property tax laws: Yes, I do agree that there are renters out there in the city that are paying high rent for rundown properties, but this has been an issue for years and years and years.
Who will give us fire and rescue protection when Jordan Fire Department is tending to a fire or motor vehicle accident on the Thruway or in their own district? Who will care for us?
Lattimore had a press conference to tell us some guy wants to write a business plan and may bring some jobs in about five years. That's not progress, that not an accomplishment, that's a pipedream.
Calling all Conservative Republicans. The way the current DA's office plea bargains and spends taxpayer money, their philosophy would scare even the most liberal liberals.
For everyone else in Cayuga County with an incarcerated loved one, lets see a real change in the D.A.'s office. Get out there and vote!
I cannot believe that the Auburn City Council is wondering what to do after sending out letters regarding 600 delinquent water bills and 50 percent have paid up. So what's the problem - shut the water off for the other 300 and you will probably reduce that number by 50 percent or better.
The Aurora post office is a “small” masonry building much like hundreds of others in the area. Why do you need to pay an engineering group to assess what it would take to bring the building up to code (considering that it is presently probably “grandfathered”)?
Auburn assessment increases just don't compare. Simply because I own some farmland my assessment increased a full 40 percent but for the legislators and governor, no problem.
While watching the council meeting on Time Warner, Friday night, Councilor McNabb made the smartest statement of his career. He said how can you charge the citizen taxpayers of Auburn, New York a late charge when you're not charging the towns that owe the city money?
The city comptroller would rather harass the city taxpayer residents over a water bill then worry about the contracts that were negotiated unjustly with the towns surrounding the city.
In a spectacular show of talent at Moravia High School, the town of Moravia put on a musical review Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The talent was unbelievable, dwarfing anything the city of Syracuse or Rochester has ever done.
Auburn Vanguard wins another competition in their division and nothing in the paper. These kids work as hard or harder than the other sports because they have to be one with their music and marching.
Didn't the city learn enough with the Dunkin Donut left turn traffic jam. Now they are allowing a drive-through bank right across from the entrance to Wegmans.
Please note that well-run, classy businesses always keep their “dirty laundry” confined to within the personnel office. In such establishments, management is aware that the customer does not need (or want) to see a boss “correcting” an employee in public, especially over some minor thing.
We do not need 15 firefighters on duty. We need about 10 on duty and another 10 on call for the big fires.
If you want to restore honor and dignity to City Hall, there's only one choice, Mike Quill. He's not a politician; he's just a man who did his best for his men in the Auburn Fire Department and he'll do his best for the people of Auburn.
It should be endangering the welfare of a child to ride a lawnmower and hold a child or infant!
Hurray - Syracuse is beating ... oh, oh, Buffalo. I wonder if they'll win over the next team they play?
We all know that the Bush administrations, father and son, only wanted Saddam Hussein. Let's put a stop to the Republican party - put a Democrat back in office.
Richard Tallcot's endorsement of George Fearon for county legislator is almost laughable. They're just a couple of cowboys who like to fight the Indians.
Is BOCES going to hire that famous asbestos removal firm, of Garropy, Chick and Fearon, to take care of its problem in the old school?
Is it too late for the Honorable Judge Corning to throw his hat into the contest for mayor?
Get out your umbrellas and raincoats: The crows are back!
If they list the names of the delinquent water bill people maybe it will humiliate them to pay their bill.
Is Democratic candidate Mike Quill ever going to stop having mouthpieces Chuck Mason and Katie Lacey attack his opponents and have someone explain to us why we should elect him over either candidate? Not only has he not said anything of substance since he began his campaign, Mr. Quill has hardly said anything at all.
I think Ms. Estabrook lives in the Land of Oz. If an illegal alien walks into a DMV office, they should be arrested and held for ICE, period.
The Citizen should publish the names of the six fools who attended that Dalai Lama peace-nik movie, so that I can sell them some ocean-front property I've got on Orchard Street in Auburn.
At the city council meeting this evening, they are discussing having some light poles that need painting. I say, why can't they get some paint and let the prisoners out to do it.
Water bills: Why pay thousands of dollars to have people study this when they should just go after the people who get a free ride. Shut it off if they don't pay after a certain amount of time.
Dave, stop blaming the Democrats for attacking you. You lost the primary and you should have bowed out gracefully.
I get so angry with the monotone babble that I hear at Holland Stadium.
