A man was arrested in Auburn Sunday after police officers had to pursue him for more than 20 minutes, according to Auburn police.
At 8:27 p.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance call on Chestnut Place due to reports of a woman screaming.

When police arrived, officials said they could hear the dispute was still going on and forced entry into the residence.

Once inside, officers said they found a woman with a small child, but that her husband fled through a back door.

Police allege that David R. Coff, 26, of 9 Chestnut Place, Auburn, had assaulted the woman in the presence of the child, and prevented her from leaving the premises or calling authorities.

Coff was located and arrested on North Division Street at 8:50 p.m.

He has been charged with third-degree assault, third-degree menacing, unlawful imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors.
