How can anyone be against socialized medicine on principle but not be against our socialized primary schools?
Currently the AMA and the public schools are both essentially monopolies and suffer the classic symptoms that result from lack of competition: exorbitant cost for mediocre service.
The chief ingredient needed for almost everything to improve is competition.
Right now neither our health care nor our primary schools have any real competition.
Our health care ranks 40th in the world and as for our school system, well, let's put it this way: Don't brag to someone that you have a high school diploma.
