The Southern Cayuga girls soccer team kicks off the Section IV Class C playoffs today with a home game at 3:30 p.m. against No. 9 Bainbridge-Guilford (4-11-2). The eighth-ranked Chiefs finished the regular season 6-10.

The winner of today's game will have a date with top-ranked Candor (11-4-1).
In the same bracket, third-ranked Union Springs (10-5) hosts No. 6 Unadilla Valley (12-4-1) at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
The Wolves are led by Alyssa Dean who has 12 goals and five assists on the season. Goalie Deven Gary has solidified the Union Springs defense as well.
In the boys Class C bracket, Southern Cayuga (12-3-1) earned the fifth seed and plays No. 12 Walton (4-9-2) at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Tompkins Cortland Community College.
Southern Cayuga is the home team but since the distance between the schools is over 100 miles, the game has to be played at a neutral site.
The Chiefs are led by a strong defense and have a number of weapons offensively, including Tony Brown-Rejman and Sean Driscoll.
The winner of the Southern Cayuga-Walton game will take on the winner of No. 13 Union Springs (3-12-2) and No. 4 Marathon (12-3-1). The Wolves take on the Olympians at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Marathon. The Wolves have been led by Mike Howell (10 goals, three assists) and Nick Schooley (six goals, four assists).
