Details of a program of human salvage - physical, mental and spiritual - on behalf of the men of America who are injured in the war are to be discussed at the clinical congress of surgeons. Men prominent is medical circles in this and other countries are present and it is estimated that more than 3,000 surgeons will participate.

AUBURN - When the clerk called on County Legislator Joseph Michaud for a vote it was a yeah. But it was also a young woman's voice. Michaud was not sick or missing, he was being shadowed. About 50 student leaders from six county high schools shadowed county lawmakers and department heads to learn what it is like to call the shots. Michaud was being shadowed by Amanda Neill, a senior at Southern Cayuga High School.

THROOP - The legal case involving Mike Butler, his proposed 38-by-245-foot chicken operation and the town of Throop may never be resolved. In January 2002, Butler was granted a building permit for a proposed chicken farm, which was rescinded in May. The town then passed a moratorium in June, freezing all industrial and commercial construction. Town officials refused to grandfather Butler's project, in effect making the freeze retroactive.
