I am writing this letter to express my support for Lon Fricano in the county legislative race in District 7 (Ledyard, Scipio and Springport). Lon's record in public service is well established as a paramedic of over 30 years and a volunteer firefighter in Union Springs. He is also a board member of the United Way and the Chamber of Commerce.

Lon will bring a fresh perspective and logical thinking to a county government that is in dire need of both. His life-long experience in the business world will promote fiscal responsibility and more sensible use of our tax dollars. He sees all sides of the issues and understands the importance of treating all persons as equals. He is determined to find a solution to the land claim issue without giving away the county and keeping in mind the best interest of the Cayuga-Seneca tribe members themselves.

He does not cater to special interest and is concerned with the input of all residents. He also understands the problem with dwindling numbers in the volunteer fire/EMS services in this county and will seek to implement an incentive program to help increase the influx of new members and help with the retention of those new members.

I urge you to take a look at the direction this county is headed and think about where you would like to see it lead in the future. After doing so, I ask that you cast your ballot on Nov. 6 for Lon Fricano.
