Doubledays 2008 schedule is out
The Auburn Doubledays 2008 schedule has been released.

They will begin the defense of their 2007 New York Penn League Championship at home on June 17 against Batavia.

The Doubledays will also face the farm teams of the New York Yankees, New York Mets and Boston Red Sox at Falcon Park next season.

The Doubledays will host the Brooklyn Cyclones, their rival in the New York-Penn League title round, in a three game series from Aug. 12-14.

The team is currently taking reservations from the general public for 2008 season tickets.

Once the current season ticket holders are given an opportunity to renew their tickets, those on the reservation list will have first choice of the remaining seats.

The cost to make a reservation is $20 per seat.

Season tickets will go on sale to the general public on Nov. 19.

Any fan making a reservation before that point will receive a season ticket holder gift.

The Doubledays are also holding a championship merchandise sale at Falcon Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and at the Doubledays Clubhouse Shop at Casey park from 5 -8 p.m., seven days a week.

Auburn football hosts playoff game

The Auburn varsity football team will host Liverpool at 7 p.m. tonight at Holland Stadium in a Section III playoff game.

Admission is $1 for students, $2 for adults and $5 per family.

Registration open for classes at YMCA

Registration for the next session of programs at the Auburn YMCA has already begun for YMCA members and will begin Monday, Oct. 22 for the general public.

Classes start the week of Oct. 29 and continue through Dec. 15.

There are available programs in aquatics, youth sports, adult fitness, adult sports and personal exercise.

Turkey raffle for Auburn Pop Warner

There will be a turkey raffle at 5 p.m. Nov. 3, at Tinker's to benefit both the Auburn Pop Warner cheerleaders and football players who travel.

There will be raffles, free hot dogs, chili and more.

Outdoor workshop at Bass Pro Shops

Bass Pro Shops Sportsman's Center will conduct a Black Powder/Muzzleloading Redhead Outdoor Skills Workshop on Saturday, Nov. 3.

Students can learn basics and advanced techniques of black powder and muzzleloading.

CCYO registration is next week

Moravia CCYO basketball sign ups are from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 24, in the Moravia Elementary School lobby. Registration is for boys and girls in grades first throught eighth.
