HIT: To the purchase of Hand Held Products by Honeywell International.
The transaction, which is expected to close in the next 60 days, is hopefully a good one for the Skaneateles Falls-based company and its employees.
Honeywell's financial muscle will hopefully increase growth for Hand Held Products.
MISS: To the attempted robbery of a local pharmacy. Auburn Police officials said a man entered Walgreen's on Monday morning and demanded narcotic painkillers. He also claimed to be carrying a firearm.
The man fled without any drugs and fortunately no one was injured.
Hopefully this was an isolated incident and not a sign of things to come.
HIT: To the performance of the Russian singing group Con Anima at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Monday night. The group's music is based in faith.
They also perform in the United States as a way of better understanding American culture.
Hopefully, their audiences also learn something about Russia from them.
The days of the Cold War are thankfully history so it's great to see Americans and Russians learn a little more about each other.
MISS: To the departure of Joe Torre as Yankee manager.
For 12 seasons, Torre brought much-needed stability and class to a franchise that had fallen on lean times.
Torre won the World Series in his first season, 1996, the Yankees' first in 18 years and three more in the next four years.
Maybe Torre was held to an impossible standard of having to win the title every season, but guiding the Yankees to the playoffs 12 straight years is an amazing feat.
He will be missed by Yankee fans throughout the area.
