Secret of puppets to be revealed
“The Secret of the Puppet's Book” will be presented by the Open Hand Puppet Theater at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at the Seneca Falls Library, 47 Cayuga St., Seneca Falls. The show, for preschool children and their families, will celebrate literacy and the fun of learning to read. The show will be followed by cookies and milk and a reading of “At Home with Books” at 10 a.m.

Visitors will meet Lewis, an extraordinary puppet who finds fun, adventure and some interesting friends in the magical pages of books. Lewis loves to be read to but finds it frustrating trying to learn how to read.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Seneca Falls Library.

Empire State College to inform public

Empire State College will hold public information sessions about its undergraduate degree programs at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Central New York Center, Second Floor, 219 Walton St., Syracuse. The college's innovative options include guided independent study with a faculty mentor, group studies and online learning, as well as credit earned through college-level life learning.

School to host visitation day

St. Joseph School will host “Visit a Catholic School Day” Open House from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the school, 89 E. Genesee St., Auburn.

Visitors may stop in to the new five full-day Pre-K classes, the Pre-K morning programs for 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds, and kindergarten through eighth grades.

Tyburn Academy to host fall open house

Tyburn Academy will hold its Fall Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the school, 17 Clymer St., Auburn.

The public is invited to tour the school and enjoy cider, doughnuts and coffee.

Charlie Brown coming to Skaneateles

The Skaneateles High School drama program will present the musical “You're a Good Man Charlie Brown” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1, 2 and 3, and at 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Nov. 4, in the high school auditorium, East Elizabeth Street, Skaneateles.

“You're a Good Man Charlie Brown” is “an average day in the life of Charlie Brown” from Valentine's Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the lives of his friends (both human and non-human).

Vendors sought for school craft fair

St. Joseph School will be holding a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the school, 89 E. Genesee St., Auburn.

The school is currently seeking crafters and vendors for the fair. Tables are $25 each.
