Friends of the Weedsport Free Library accomplish much and make a lot of sense throughout the year. During the month of November they hope to make a lot of CENTS.
Patrons are encouraged to bring their pennies to the library all month long. The goal is to fill the antique fishbowl with pennies. The fishbowl is 15 inches tall and has a circumference of 57 inches.

Proceeds from the creative fundraiser, that all ages can participate in, will help support the Friends of the Library and the library endowment fund.

Before you put this paper down and go hunting for your stash, please read on; there are more plans in the works.

The Penny Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the library, 2795 E. Brutus St., Weedsport. It will be a real family affair. Children will play games, including penny bingo; all games cost the player's age in pennies. A local coin collector will talk about coin collecting at 10:30 a.m.

Those with green thumbs will enjoy the houseplant sale, and donations of houseplants, big or small, can be dropped off at the library anytime during regular library hours the week of Nov. 11.

Please label the plants and include the growing directions.

The plants will cost 50 cents. Throw in some clowns, crafts, and refreshments ... it all ADDS up to fun. Oh, and admission is ONE CENT.

Join us, we hope it will make a lot of sense and CENTS.
