Auburn hosts playoff game Friday
The Auburn varsity football team will host Liverpool at 7 p.m. Friday at Holland Stadium in a Section III playoff game.

Admission is $5 per person and children under 12 will be admitted for free.

Youth lacrosse program at YMCA

The Auburn YMCA-WEIU is offering a learn-by-playing Youth Super Sports Lacrosse program for ages 3 to 5 and 6 to 7 beginning the week of Oct. 29.

The program focuses on skill development and provides the children with an individualized progressive introduction to the sport.

Practice sessions are active games.

Rookies meet Saturday mornings at 10 and 11 a.m. for ages 3 to 5 and 9 to 10 a.m. for ages 6 to 7.

Participants must supply their own lacrosse sticks.

Fees are $20 for YMCA members and $40 for the general public.

Breakfast to benefit AHS basketball

There will be a pancake breakfast on from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Knights of Columbus Council #207.

The breakfast is to benefit Auburn High School basketball boosters.

The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 10. Children under 5 are free.

Pop Warner hosting pasta dinner Nov. 6

There will be a pasta dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Knights of Columbus to raise money for Auburn Pop Warner cheerleaders and football players who travel.

Take-out and delivery are available.

There will also be a bake sale, a 50/50 raffle and other prizes.

CCYO sign-ups run through Oct. 29

The Southern Cayuga Youth Basketball League is accepting registrations through Oct. 29, for this year's CCYO basketball program.

Registration forms are available in the Southern Cayuga Middle School office and will soon be available on the school's Web site.

The league is open to boys grades second through eighth and girls grades third through eighth.

Boeheim to honor Alberici Thursday

There will be a sports banquet in honor of Gino Alberici at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Auburn.

The event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Auburn Council 207.

Guest speakers will include Syracuse University head basketball coach Jim Boeheim and assistant coach Mike Hopkins.

Tickets are $100 per person and are available at the Knights of Columbus, Tyburn Academy and Cuddy Financial Services.

D-days title trophy to be on display

The Auburn Doubledays' 2007 New York-Penn League championship trophy will be on display from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Bass Pro Shops in the Fingerlakes Mall in Aurelius.

Fans can come to the front vestibule and have a photo opportunity with the trophy, along with team mascot, Abner.

There will be sales of Doubledays' merchandise to commemorate the championship.
