Pasta dinner to benefit ROTC
The Knights of Columbus will hold a pasta dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at 47 Market St., Auburn.

The dinner will benefit the Syracuse University ROTC.

More than 20 cadets, including Auburn native Mark Vanderpool, will be serving dinners.

Dinner, auction heads to Port Byron

The Fall Roast Beef Dinner and Silent Auction will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Federated Church of Port Byron, 35 Tex Pultz Parkway, Port Byron.

The auction will begin at

4 p.m. followed by dinner at 4:30 p.m. Take-outs are available. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 12, and free for children younger than 5.

Applebee's to host school fundraiser

An Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at the restaurant, 221 Grant Ave., Auburn.

The event will benefit the St. Joseph Elementary School.

Elks to serve

chicken barbecue

A chicken barbecue will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Auburn Elks, 314 State St., Auburn.

Dine at Applebee's to support library

The Weedsport Free Library will receive 10 percent of the sales at Applebee's between 4 and 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Anyone who wants to dine at the restaurant and donate during that time can obtain a coupon from the library, 2795 E. Brutus St., Weedsport.

Pasta dinner will benefit family

A pasta dinner will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Union Springs Fire Department Hall, Route 90, Union Springs.

The dinner will benefit the Burnet Family who lost their Springport home to a fire last month.

A $10 donation includes raffles, door prizes, auction, pasta dinner and music provided by DJ Doug Derleth. Advance tickets are available at Cervo's News downtown and Westside Auto, Hardenburgh Avenue, both in Auburn and Jason's New York Pizzeria, Union Springs.

Church to host Election Day dinner

The Tyre United Methodist Church will host an Election Day turkey dinner with all the trimmings from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Magee Fire Hall, 1807 Route 318, Tyre.

The dinner is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. For more information, call 568-1260.

The United Church of Auburn will host a pork roast dinner with all the trimmings at 4:30 p.m. Election Night, Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the church, 77 Metcalf Drive, Auburn. Dinner includes dessert and beverage.

A Korean cuisine dinner to benefit the Heifer Project will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Junior Room of Westminster Presbyterian Church, 17 William St., Auburn. This dinner will feature a variety of Korean fair and seating is limited to 50. Price is $25 per person.

Heifer International is a nonprofit, humanitarian organization dedicated to ending world hunger and caring for the earth by providing livestock, trees, training and other resources to help struggling families around the globe. The goal locally is to purchase a $5,000 Heifer International “Gift Ark.”

The Fingerlakes Wine Fest and Farmers' Market will offer the best of the area from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Fingerlakes Mall, 1579 Clark St. Road, Aurelius. The best wines of local wineries and home-grown and produced goods from local farmers will be available for purchase.
