While New York State Police had yet to release the identities Tuesday of the two people killed Sunday night in a one-vehicle crash in Elbridge, an area funeral home confirmed Tuesday that Ronald C. Redmond, 52, and his son R. Jerrod Redmond, 30, both of Memphis, were the two men involved in the accident.
State police investigators could not confirm the identities as the two people involved Tuesday afternoon, as details from the autopsy had not yet been released. Bush Funeral Home, in Elbridge, is making funeral arrangements for the two men.
According to the police, two men were driving south on Kester Road in a pickup truck when the vehicle struck a concrete culvert. The vehicle then struck a tree and rolled onto the driver's side, according to police. After coming to a rest across Kester Road, the vehicle caught fire, officials said.
Jordan fire officials responded to the scene and extinguished the fire before discovering the bodies.
State police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
