Turkey shoot at Sportsman's Club
Junior Brian Hoey, of Auburn, shot a 1-over par 73 and followed that up with a 78 to finish 11th overall for the Clarkson University golf team at the Hamilton Invitational at Seven Oaks Golf Course.

Clarkson shot a team score of 619 and finished eighth out of 12 schools. Skidmore (583) won the event.

Fall youth meeting at Moravia fire hall

The Moravia Youth League will hold its annual fall meeting 7 p.m. Oct. 15, at the Moravia fire hall.

All those who are interested in coaching next year are encouraged to attend.

D-days title trophy to be on display

The Auburn Doubledays' 2007 New York-Penn League championship trophy will be on display from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Bass Pro Shops at the Fingerlakes Mall in Auburn. Fans can come to the front vestibule and have a photo opportunity with the trophy, along with team mascot, Abner.

There will be sales of Doubledays' merchandise to commemorate the championship.

Boeheim to honor Alberici at dinner

The athletic community will welcome Syracuse University Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim, Doug Logan, and Mike Hopkins to help honor Gino Alberici at the annual Knights of Columbus Sports Banquet Thursday, Oct. 18, at Sacred Heart Parish Hall.

Union Springs to honor donors

The Union Springs Central School will be acknowledging all the donors who contributed to the purchase of a sound system for the main athletic field at halftime of the following athletic events: the varsity football game on Oct. 20.

The official dedication will take place Nov. 26 during the district Board of Education meeting.

Track & field class begins next month

The Central New York Track & Field Officials Association is holding training sessions for new officials from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 7 and 14, at Canastota High School.

Attendance at both classes is required.

Pilat Design Masters at Starlite Lanes

The second annual Pilat Design Sport Bowling Masters will be Dec. 1-2. There will be a 1 p.m. qualifying squad the first day at Starlite Lanes, followed by the finals beginning at noon the next day at Falcon Lanes.

Guaranteed top prize is $700, with the winner also receiving a championship trophy in memory of Tom Aubin. Entry fee is $50. Call Mike Ryan (730-2901) or Dennis O'Donnell (252-1939) for more information.

Sport League meeting is Oct. 18

There will be a meeting 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 at Starlite Lanes for bowlers interested in competing in a Sport League.
