Mayoral forum to be held Oct. 15
Community members will have a chance to watch the mayoral forum at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the student lounge in Cayuga Community College, 197 Franklin St. in Auburn.
Students and other members of the public are welcome to attend the free event, being held by the CCC Student Government Association. The forum will allow candidates for city mayor to voice their views of government as well as answer questions from the audience.

Church seeks help for Christmas Bazaar
SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School is calling for donations and volunteers to help make the Christmas Bazaar a success and earn enough money for a gymnasium. The school officials are trying to raise money to build a gym because children have to walk to a nearby school to use the facilities, including in inclement weather.
School officials are asking for donations for toys, novelties, baked goods, books, paper products for raffles and door prizes for the school bazaar. They also ask for volunteers and money.
The bazaar is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Ukrainian National Club.
B&W film to be screened at Willard
The Community Preservation Committee will screen a silent, black-and-white film version of “The Phantom of the Opera” for its upcoming Silent Movie Night. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at Willard Memorial Chapel, 17 Nelson St., Auburn.
Lori Rhodes Pettit will accompany the film playing on the chapel's antique tracker organ.Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door. For more information, call 252-0339.
Clerk's office to hold passport day
The Auburn City Clerk's Office will have a passport day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 27, at city hall, 24 South St. The day is to accommodate citizens who are making plants to travel to places that require a passport. The approximate turnaround time for the routine passport is six to eight weeks.
The office will accept passport application for processing. Photos and applications are available at the clerk's office.
Falcons to hold 50th turkey shoot
The Falcon Sportsmen Club will host its 50th Annual Turkey Shoot beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21. The day will be filled with activities for shotguns, rifles, handguns, and muzzleloaders.
For those who want to skip the guns, there will be other events, such as games and raffles. Organizers promise people don't have to shoot to win a turkey, and anyone is invited. They will serve refreshments, including American and Polish foods.
