A Baldwinsville investor aims to renovate and lease the former Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Route 5 West.
Real estate agent John Bouck of Bouck Real Estate announced the sale of the long-vacant building in a press release Friday. Dion Mulvaney purchased the property at 34 Arterial West for about $125,000.
KFC moved from the 30-year-old building to a co-location with A&W constructed about a mile down the road at 278 Grant Ave. in 2003. Mulvaney has been courting tenants for the 1,750 square-foot building that may be used for office space or food service again, according to Bouck.
“I have invested substantially in the city of Auburn over the past few years and have a great deal of confidence in its future,” Mulvaney said in a press release.
Mulvaney purchased a 69,000-square-foot industrial building at 40 York St., Auburn, for warehousing last year. He has had a packaging distribution company, Mulcorr Container, on Willey Street for more than 15 years.
Mulvaney owns several other business ventures in the area.
