Rachel Hosie continued to run well for the Skaneateles girls cross country team, taking first place (19:25) in a meet with Jordan-Elbridge and Hannibal on Wednesday at the Polo Grounds in Skaneateles. The Lakers beat Jordan-Elbridge 19-43 and Hannibal 15-51.

It was the 92nd and 93rd straight dual meet wins for the Lakers dating back to 1992.
Pacing Skaneateles was Alexis Mazzeo in third (20:49), Christina Homeyer in fourth (20:54), Kristin Roberts in fifth (21:16) and Beatrice Walton in sixth (21:28).
For Jordan-Elbridge, Nicole Stroud was second (20:01), Carly Stroud finished seventh (21:51) and Allison Donahue finished 10th (22:35).
In the boys meet, Skaneateles' Sam Smolenski set a new Polo Grounds record, finishing first with a time of 16:28 as Jordan-Elbridge defeated Skaneateles 23-36 and the Lakers defeated Hannibal 18-40.
“He finished the first mile in five minutes and hit the two-mile mark in 10:40 and that was mostly an uphill mile,” Lakers coach Jack Reed said.
Jordan-Elbridge's Jeff Donohue was second (16:39) and Cody Stanton was third (16:52).
Calvin Davis came in fourth (17:13) for the Lakers.
The Eagles' Mike Marrero was fifth (17:35), Donato Direnzo was sixth (17:41), Greg Bader was seventh (18:05) and Tom Poppe took eighth (18:07).
Skaneateles' Jeff Cregg finished ninth (18:35).
“The Eagles are getting better,” Reed said. “They're going to be tough down the road. They'll put up a good fight at sectionals.”
