Construction workers need to be more considerate

Thursday, October 4, 2007 9:57 AM EDT

To the construction workers on Genesee Street: I understand you have a job to do, but please stop clogging up the intersection to pull onto Herman Avenue.
You park in the intersection with the trucks still running with lights on, as you're in the vehicle waiting to go through the intersection.

Yet, you are out smoking a cigarette.

We have children to drop off at school, a little courtesy would be nice.

" Poor Robin.... havent you noticed that its not just the construction workers in your way, but also Verizon (all summer) garbage trucks, kids walking to school, school busses, trash cans, orange cones, orange barrels, pot holes, man hole covers 5 inches above the ground down pavement, ect.... Take some advice from yikes and CHILL.... "

" Perhaps the moral of this story is PATIENCE. If everyone just exercised a bit more patience, life would be so much simpler. A little understanding also goes a long way in this day and age. Just because someone was smoking a cigarette while the truck appeared to be idling in an inappropriate location doesn't necessarily mean there wasn't something wrong with the truck. Maybe there was a big snake in there from the jungles of Malaysia or something and he didn't feel comfortable. If, by chance, you see the same thing tomorrow, just remember this article, laugh to yourself thinking about the snake and go about your day. Fair enough? "
