Cecil was the Doubledays ace during the 2007 season and picked up the win in the deciding game of the New York-Penn League championship series against the Brooklyn Cyclones. It was Auburn's first league title since 1998.
The Webster Award is presented to a player at each minor league level in the Toronto Blue Jays' organization for their achievements during the 2007 season.
Cecil finished the season 1-0 with a 1.27 ERA in 49.2 innings pitched. He was second on the team with 56 strikeouts.
Cecil was the 38th overall pick in last spring's Major League Baseball draft.
He is also the University of Maryland's all-time saves leader.
