There's plenty for kids if they'll use imagination

Saturday, September 29, 2007 10:32 PM EDT

I am a little confused when I read quotes by people saying “we need somewhere for the kids to go.”
What do they mean?

Taxpayers should build a place to baby-sit everyone's kids? What age limit? Who would be in charge? How much would it cost? What hours would they be there?

Maybe kids should hang out on their own porch. They have every electrical gadget there is to entertain them.

How about joining the Y? How about getting a part-time job? What about doing volunteer work? Maybe getting into a good church with excellent youth programs?

Do some chores like your grandparents did.

The kids need to use their imagination -- they don't need a baby-sitter!
