A developer plans to reopen the Hotel Gould in Seneca Falls next summer.
JGB Properties recently purchased the historic lodge for about $5 million. Plan are on the table for a 39-room luxury hotel, according to a press release from the Seneca Falls Development Corp.
“We are pleased and excited to add this wonderful historic building to our group of business,” said Joachim Ohlin of JGB Properties, which also operates the Red Mill Inn of Baldwinsville. “We look forward to offering the same level of gracious hospitality and world-class service in Seneca Falls.”
The site that dates back to the 1850s will target visitors to the National Women's Rights Historic Park and National Women's Hall of Fame, according to development corporation Director Bob Buccieri. He added the building could be a catalyst for economic development in the village.
The hotel will also house banquet facilities and a full-service restaurant.
