Growing old, having fun

I'm an 88-year-old widow. I woke up this morning (an accomplishment in itself). If I hadn't, I would not be writing this essay - would I?
In the '60s, that generation would get “high,” which stimulated their erotic zones. For me, the only “high” I'm on is a “high fiber diet.” My companion's name is Metamucil. I never cheat on him, for if I did, I would pay the price - bowel lock-down.

When you run into a friend and automatically say, “Hello, how are you?” They commence to tell you. Well, please, tell that to your doctor, especially if it's Dr. Rosenblum, who truly is a Rose-in-bloom. Get it?

He's an absolute “McBloommy doctor,” who suggested I write this piece. Advice from your doctor must be followed. So here goes:

I'm not planning on meeting my “Maker” in the near future, and my prescription at 88 is - “Have fun.”

Whatever “turns you on” - go for it!

My passion, what little I have left, is slot machines. Like everything in life: you win some, you lose some. Just entering the casino doors give me a “rush.” Many elderly people spend their time in church, preparing for the day they enter those “pearly gates.” When my “time” comes and I face God, I hope he doesn't tell me the elevator button I pushed should have been the “down button.”

There you have it - get up, get out and have fun.
