Auburn Vanguard to play spooky Harvest tunes
This past summer, about a thousand inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Centre in the Philippines staggered into the hearts of YouTube audiences with a well-staged version of Michael Jackson's “Thriller.”
This weekend, Auburn High School's Maroon Vanguard marching band hopes to do the same during the annual Harvest of Sound show at Holland Stadium.
Band director Ed Meier has choreographed part of his 120 musicians' performance to Jackson's iconic zombie march, in addition to Bach's “Toccata and Fugue” and a few other spooky songs.
