Parochial-school parents pay taxes like everyone else
In response to the item printed in your “Citizen Say” column by “forrest” on Sept. 19 concerning a parent's complaint at the lack of transportation for children attending SS. Peter & Paul School:
This person wrongly assumes that people who choose to send their children to parochial schools of any denomination are automatically wealthy and “probably don't pay school taxes.”
I have been here many years and have never defaulted on paying school taxes, and in addition, like many other Catholic parents who send their children to parochial schools, have paid for the privilege. Obviously, “forrest” is unaware of the discrimination practiced throughout the U.S.
