AUBURN - Lewis Springer has been named the Northeast Economic Developers Association 1997 Small Business Person of the Year. Springer, founder and president of Creative Electric, was recognized for his creativity, imagination and innovativeness of product, contributions to the community and demonstrated support and concern for his employees. Creative Electric began in the 1960s as a manufacturer of signal processing equipment to refine radar imaging.

SKANEATELES - They came. They saw. They clicked. And clicked. And clicked some more. Skaneateles was invaded Friday by 40 Syracuse University student photographers who will focus on this quiet village all weekend. Armed with an array of lenses and assorted photography equipment, the students arrived Friday and began the first of three days of shooting everything the village has to offer, from the high school football team to a small nursing home.
