Hoey shoots low, finishes seventh
Clarkson junior Brian Hoey shot an 83 and a 72 as his team finished second in the two-day Naz/Hobart Invitational at Clifton Springs Country Club over the weekend.

The Auburn native finished seventh overall as the Knights had their best finish of the season.

Doubledays hosting trip to Toronto

The Auburn Doubledays will lead an outing to the Rogers Centre in Toronto on Sept. 29, to see the Blue Jays take on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and to see the winning pitcher in the Doubledays' New York-Penn League Championship clinching game.

Brett Cecil will be receiving the Webster Award on the field as the team's top player.

Past winners include Vito Chiaravalloti, Ryan Patterson and Scott Campbell.

The bus will depart Falcon Park at 6 a.m. Saturday and will return following the 1 p.m. game.

Tickets are $95 for the bus and a field level seat to the game.

Fans that purchase a Doubledays New York-Penn League Championship shirt while signing up for the trip will pay just $80.

WBA tournament at Rainbow Lanes

The Auburn USBC WBA will be holding its annual No-Tap Tournament on Sept. 30 at Rainbow Lanes.

The tournament is open to any woman sanctioned in the local association.

Feldman bowls on ESPN Sunday

Michelle Feldman, general manager of Falcon Lanes, will appear in the U.S. Women's Open series 1 p.m. Sunday on ESPN (Time Warner cable channel 24). Feldman bowled hoping to advance to the Oct. 14 finals in Reno, Nev.

She has already qualified for the PBA Women's Series, which begins Oct. 31 in Taylor, Mich.

Three-man scramble at Dutch Hollow

The Dutch Hollow annual Three-Man Scramble Golf Tournament will be played at 11 a.m. Oct. 6 at Dutch Hollow Country Club.

The tournament will be a shotgun start.

Spring football benefit is tomorrow

There is a Southern Springs football benefit from 4 to 10 p.m. Sept.26 at the Pizza Hut on Grant Avenue in Auburn.

Twenty percent of the bill will go to benefit the football program.

Doubledays auction ends Sunday

The Auburn Doubledays are auctioning off all of their 2007 home jerseys to raise money for the Leo A. Pinckney Scholarship Fund. All jerseys will be signed by the player who wore it for the 2007 season.

The jerseys are currently being listed on the Minor League Baseball auction site. The jerseys can be accessed through the Doubledays web page at www.auburndoubledays.com.

The auction runs through Sept. 30. The winners will receive the jersey along with a certificate of authenticity from the Doubledays.
