Senior co-captain Allie Beardsley broke a 1-1 tie, scoring the go-ahead goal with 14:33 remaining in the second half as the Weedsport field hockey team edged Fayetteville-Manlius 2-1 on Monday in Weedsport.

With the win, the Warriors improve to 8-2 overall and 4-1 in the OHSL.
Weedsport is second in the league to Cazenovia (4-0).
With 17:33 left in the first half, co-captain Katie Schlegel put Weedsport on the scoreboard first, scoring an unassisted goal to give the Warriors a 1-0 edge.
But Fayetteville-Manlius answered right back with a Meg Helmer goal to tie the score 1-1.
The Hornets' Shayma McKie assisted on the play.
Megan Tiso (four saves) allowed Beardsley's go-ahead goal. Fayetteville-Manlius' Julia Magley had three saves while playing the entire first half.
Kaitlin Hammersley had three saves in goal for the Warriors.
Weedsport hosts Cato-Meridian today.
