SKANEATELES - The Skaneateles school district is finding an offer for land on which to build a new garage and fuel facility tough to refuse. The town board verbally offered to donate five acres of land to the district about a month ago. Tuesday, the school board approved the deal and the town board is expected to vote on the deal sometime in October.

FLEMING - Cayuga Mayor Michael Coombs' road rage case was postponed for two weeks on Tuesday so he can decide whether to pursue a jury trial or plead guilty. In Fleming Town Court, Coombs, 43, of State Route 90, and his attorney, Norm Chirco, requested the delay. Coombs is charged with second-degree harassment and improperly stopping his truck in the middle of a highway, stemming from a July 12 incident. The charges are violations, each punishable by up to 15 days in jail or a $250 fine.
