I am writing this letter in regards to the impact that Leadership Cayuga has had on my life.
As a newcomer to the area, I was not fully acquainted with the surroundings and did not really know if I should like living in the area.
However, my participation in Leadership Cayuga 2007 has proved otherwise.
There are several points that I would like to emphasize regarding this awesome program that has enhanced my leadership abilities in addition to giving me another perspective on this vibrant community.
First, the curriculum is structured in a manner that allows one to examine all aspects of community life.
The presentation from leaders in addition to the visit to various sites really provides one with a first-hand account of Auburn and Cayuga County in general. I was enlightened by the presentations and even challenged to do more in the area of community services.
Even though I currently sit on a board, I am thinking about joining additional boards where my voice will be heard.
Second, the relationships formed with other members of the class and presenters will be cherished for years to come.
I cannot overemphasize the lessons learned and the sharing of information from individuals from all segments of the community.
I am a firm believer that the Creator brings us in contact with other humans for a purpose.
For the most part, I am planning on building upon the ties established and the relationships formed by remaining active in various projects in the community.
Finally, Leadership Cayuga has challenged me to think outside the box. I can no longer do things in a common way.
I must find uncommon paths and roads undiscovered if I am to make a difference in society.
These are just some of the experiences and observations that I walked away with by being a participant in Leadership Cayuga.
