Schweinfurth offering adult art classes
The Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center is offering special arts classes for adults through October at the center, 205 Genesee St., Auburn.
A Hand-Building Pottery class runs Thursdays through Oct. 25 and will be taught by local artist Cheri Haring, and Tom Hussey will teach Painting for all Levels from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 31.

Volunteers sought for county's SCAT Van
This fall marks the SCAT Van's 31st year of service for seniors and disabled persons of Cayuga County. Each year, the fleet transports more than 13,000 riders.
Last week, the board of directors thanked its volunteers with a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. Each volunteer was awarded a gift and the group's most humble thanks.

Senior group seeks active volunteers
The Weedsport/Brutus Seniors, a 32-year-old organization, seeks volunteers ages 55 or older to help the group grow and continue. Without help in updating and modernizing, this group is in danger of disbanding.

The Widowed Group offers the opportunity to socialize with other widowed persons from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Saturdays each month, at Ann's Restaurant, 99 Grant Ave., Auburn for breakfast. Interested attendees are welcome. To learn more, call 253-6178.

Computer classes taught in new lab
Computer classes will resume at the Boyle Center's newly updated computer lab next month. Beginner level classes meet twice weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Oct. 9 for three weeks at the center, 149 Genesee St., Auburn.
Classes are from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 9, 11, 16, 18, 23 and 25. Cost for all six sessions is $70.
The center also holds quilting, art, crochet and knitting, writing, exercise and line dancing classes.

Time to start mulling over Medicare Part D
As November nears, it is
time to think about the annual enrollment period for enrolling in a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. Open enrollment will be from Nov. 15 through Dec. 31.
The Office for the Aging is available and willing to help with any questions. Call the office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at 253-1434 to schedule an appointment.
