Yes, I choose to send my child to SS. Peter and Paul School and pay tuition, but I also pay school taxes for the city of Auburn. Do you?
The city of Auburn issued a $10 parking ticket for parking one foot over yellow parking lines in the parking lot behind Cayuga Community College, which was half full during Friday night's high school football game against Corcoran. Thanks Auburn and Auburn Police Department for your hospitality - it has left a lasting impression.

Wow! Mr. Quill really gets the vote out. If I were him I'd be a little worried.

Get this straight - during World War II it was us that saved the world - we didn't need anybody's help. If it wasn't for us, you'd be eating with chopsticks now.

Don't look now but the Canadian dollar is about to overtake the value of the American dollar!

We are so lucky to have Tom and Jean Lewis in our community - they have shown us faith, hope and encouragement. Let's make Christian proud - do the right thing - give as much as you can to the United Way and we'll set a record that will be remembered as long as Christian.

" Well Brew, I do happen to KNOW that those I have spotted ARE on welfare, how I know that is none of your business, and it is MY business and everyone elses that pay taxes since they are spending MY MONEY! I dont suppose your first name begins with L, cause if it does than you should know better, and hows the 6th floor? "

" Vic as I've said before, when you put a comment or opinion on this web site you should expect or will get somebody else opinion, which is great, but when somebody puts their comments in and has no idea or doesn't know how to read what the original subject was and then puts stupid comments on somthing he or she knows nothing about, should either learn how to read,or find out what the facts where first, that way when you want to add your comments or opinions you won't look dumb. Have a good day. "

" I assumed you were intelligent enough to understand that when I said "your" road and potholes that I was referring to the street that you lived on. I guess I was wrong. You had earlier said that you get nothing for your school taxes because your children graduated 20 years ago. I suppose in your world no one should pay school taxes and people could only send their kids to school if they paid for it directly out of their own pockets during the years that their children were in school. This way only wealthy people could get an education. What a great America that would be. "

" I'd be out all summer too drinking beer in front of my slum if I was getting free money every month from the state. What else is there to do in Auburn? You can't expect these bums to earn what they are getting. Every day all day long year after year these people are out front living it up. What a life. Nothing ever changes. "

" Vic first of all, I donot own a street, second I donot own any potholes, third your argument is stupid, and I am not whining about paying my taxes, just what the money is used for. If all you did was just read the comments and not write any comments yourself, people would not know how really dumb you might be. "

" If we didn't win WWII the Russians would have. Period. Germany was already bleeding itself white, its petroleum and oil reserves were drying up, it had exhausted its suppliers of raw materials and all we would have had to do is hold a blockade against imports into Germany and The Third Reich would have shriveled from within. Hitler would have been dead or incapacitated within a few months from illness, or more likely, would have been deposed by someone from within his ever-shrinking circle. Russia was resurgent, flooded with new tanks from the factories beyond the Urals where they had moved them after the seige of Moscow, and Japan had nothing in the way of ground armor that could have withstood an armored assault by Russia. All Japan had was an air force; it's sea force would have been all but useless against Russia, and China could have been counted on to side with the Russians to defeat Japan and split up the spoils. God, read your history, folks! "

" ARTIFICIAL TURF: Disadvantages: Some artificial turf requires infill such as silicon sand and/or granulated rubber made from recycled car tires. This material may carry heavy metals which can leach into the water table. The granules can also produce a distinctive odor which is considered to be unpleasant. Needs to be disinfected periodically due to the fact it does not absorb body fluids in the same way as natural turf (although the belief that artificial turf harbours infection has recently been contested by academics) Turf toe is a medical condition which is often associated with playing on artificial turf pitches. Friction between skin and some types of artificial turf causes abrasions and/or burns to a much greater extent than natural grass. This is an issue for some sports: for example, football in which sliding maneuvers are common and clothing does not fully cover the limbs. Artificial Turf tends to be much hotter than natural grass when exposed to the sun. "

" Why are there so many people hanging out in thier yards on Orchard Street drinking beers at 9:30 in the morning instead of WORKING? The system is definatley broken, lazy alcoholics living on our tax money. How do the welfare rats keep on the system so they can keep drinking when DSS is supposed to be "temporary" assistance? We need more investigators to go out and bust these losers and get them off the welfare roles so that people that really need some "temporary assistance" to get them through lifes tough moments can acutally use the system the way it should be used. I have learned that a lot of our DSS roles are transfers from other Counties so they can be close to thier loved ones that are currently incarcerated in Auburn Prison! Its absolutely ridiculous. "

" I was taught by Driver's Education that if you park over a yellow line you are considered Double Parked, in which case you deserved your ticket so quit whining, and pay up! "

vic wrote on Sep 23, 2007 12:02 PM:

" forrest, you complained yesterday that you get nothing for your school taxes because your children graduated 20 years ago. Well I probably don't drive down your street, but my taxes go to pay to fix your potholes. So I get nothing for my tax money then, right. I don't have any kids so the way I see it you owe me for the tax money I paid 20 years ago when your kids were still in school. Pretty stupid argument huh! Quit your whining and pay your taxes like everyone else! "

cm wrote on Sep 23, 2007 8:52 AM:

" If the parking lot was only half-full then why did you need to park at all over the yellow lines? You do know you are in the "end of the month Quotas" time-frame right? Why give police a reason to give you a ticket? "
