Educators invited to join workshop

Educators are invited to join the Syracuse Everson Museum education staff from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, for the fall educator workshop. Educators of all disciplines and community leaders who work with children are encouraged to participate in this introduction in the exhibition “Under One Roof Reprise,” which features nine women artists who work in a variety of media. The artists work shares common themes including play, gender, materials, time and memories.

Participants will be guided through a gallery walk and discuss the various themes, media and techniques used by the artists, which will serve as a catalyst for creating their own works of art. Strategies for using contemporary art in the classroom through the use of postmodern principles of art will also be presented.

A $10 pre-registration fee includes art materials, curriculum packet and light refreshments. To register, call Qiana Williams at 474-6064.
