Pulaski out-runs Cato-Meridian

The Cato-Meridian girls cross country team had two top-ten finishers in the race, but it didn't prevent a loss.

Both the girls and boys' teams lost to Pulaski 15-50 in the battle of the Blue Devils on Wednesday in Cato.

Caitlin Corn finished first overall (21:47) for Pulaski. Aubrey Campbell finished best for Cato-Meridian's girls team (25:03).

Angelina Argese came in tenth (25:03), Kristin Roberts was 11th (25:16), Jessica Cushman placed 12th (26:04) and Erin Annett finished 14th (27:55).

For the boys race, Pulaski's Trevor Atkinson (18:48) finished first overall.

For Cato-Meridian, Joe Mattice came in 13th overall (20:40), Tommy Klaben was 14th, Carl Tausend took 16th (21:57), Larry Treasure finished 18th (22:23) and Denzer Campbell placed 19th (22:26).

Tim Nervina took 20th (23:01), Joe Barbato placed 23rd (23:14) and Andy Wegman finished 24th (23:20) for Cato-Meridian.

The Blue Devils will compete Saturday at the Auburn Invitational.
