Taking care of your heart now will insure a long healthy life for years to come.

Preventative measures such as testing your blood pressure, glucose levels and getting a pulmonary screening are essential steps in pursuing a healthy heart and lifestyle.

Auburn Memorial Hospital will again be hosting its annual Heart Expo for people to participate in preventing heart attacks and strokes.

In the United States, heart attacks are the number one killer and strokes rank number three. AMH hosts the Heart Expo to help educate the public about serious cardiac issues that may threaten their lives.

Early detection screenings and information on heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure and hypertension will be conducted by trained medical staff. A mandatory 12 to 15 hour fast will be necessary for accurate testing.

Youth activities will also be available to keep the children busy and maybe teach them a bit about heart health as well. A carnival setting will include games, face painting and live cartoon characters.
