Buffalo man pleads guilty to shooting police officers

BUFFALO - An 18-year-old has pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted first-degree murder for shooting two Buffalo police officers - paralyzing one of them - in December.
Varner Harris Jr. agreed to plead guilty as his trial was about to begin for the shootings of Officers Carl Andolina and Patricia Parete.

Parete remains paralyzed.

State Supreme Court Justice Penny Wolfgang is expected to sentence Harris to two 30-year terms when she sentences him next month.
