Moravia's Kurt Berry heads the ball away from Groton's Josh Hilker, left, and Justin Martin during their game in Moravia Monday afternoon.
Drake's goal was assisted by Justin Stanton and JT Badman.

“It was a back-and-forth game,” Blue Devils coach Jim Myers said. “Both teams played tough. We just caught their defense too far out and Mike was able to chip a shot over their goalkeeper.”

Groton actually outshot Moravia 20-16 and had a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks. But the Blue Devils were able to take advantage offensively, if only on one shot.

“Both teams played a good, defensive game,” Myers said. “We were just able to create some good scoring chances.

Moravia (1-4-2 overall) hosts Marathon Wednesday.
