King Ferry Central School is using temporary quarters for
the 61 children in the first six grades, W. McGregor Deller, supervising principal, said today. The King Ferry school building is adequate to normal demands since its 70 by 40 addition last year but during the migrant season, he explained it was necessary to house two groups in Northville Hall and Masonic Hall in the village.

AUBURN - After just completing his first full year as executive director of Cayuga County's chapter of the United Way, Chris Buscher has great expectations. The United Way's goal this year is a record $1,046,918. “That would be the largest amount ever raised to help the citizens of our county,” Buscher said.

VENICE - Two more men - one from the Southern Tier and one from northern Pennsylvania - were arrested here Monday night and charged with stealing anhydrous ammonia from a farm on Dublin Hill Road. Cayuga County Sheriff's deputies arrested William Morrow, 39, of Chemung Street, of Waverly, and Scott Teel, 29, Route 187 South, Wysox, in Bradford County, Pa. The two men, who were charged with petit larceny by sheriff's deputies here, also face federal charges of possession and theft of anhydrous ammonia with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.
