The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store in Weedsport early Saturday morning.

According to officials, an unknown white male entered the Pit Stop Convenience Store located at the intersection of Routes 31 and 34 just after 3 a.m. Saturday. He held the cashier at gunpoint with a handgun and demanded cash. The suspect fled the store on foot in an unknown direction. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash that included at least two $100 bills.

Police said the robber is possibly in his late teens or early 20s. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a mask.
