Mason named runner of week
SUNY Delhi freshman Chris Mason was named the NJCAA Division III men's runner of the week for his performance at the Binghamton University Cross Country Invite on Sept. 8.
The Auburn native finished 26th overall in a time of 27:41 against NCAA Division I runners.
Delhi is currently ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Division III coaches poll.
Auburn hockey beginning sign-ups
There will be sign-ups for the 2007-08 season of Auburn hockey from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 22 and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 23 at Casey Park.
Sportsman field day is Saturday
The Cayuga Country Sportsman's Club will hold its annual field day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15.
There will be a fishing contest, archery and airgun instruction, shooting contests for adults, a water balloon catapult, law enforcement displays and a helicopter drop for kid's prizes.
The field day is held at the club ground and there is free admission and free parking.
Stingrays holding clinic, tryouts
The Auburn YMCA Stingray swim team will run its annual clinic and tryouts for potential new competitive swimmers ages 6 to 10.
The clinics will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 18 and 20.
Participants will learn the basics of competitive swimming and must be able to swim 25 yards unassisted.
Previous swim lessons are recommended.

YMCA volleyball league begins soon
The Auburn YMCA-WEIU co-ed volleyball league is currently accepting rosters for the fall session scheduled to begin Sept. 20.
The league meets every Thursday night starting at 6:45 p.m.
Both a recreational and competitive league are offered.
Each team must have two females on the court.
The eight-week league includes one week of playoffs.
Registrations are now being taken.

The Union Springs Saturday morning basketball program will begin on Sept. 15, at Union Springs High School.
The program is open for any boy in grades 4-8 who resides in the Union Springs School District.
