Can't believe 430 people signed a petition, plus another 100 showed up to support the Meridian Fire Department, but the Cato Town Board refused to give another one-year contract or even 6 months, therefore forcing closure of the 104-year-old fire department. Supported by the people, rejected by the board and not one reason for rejection by any of the board!
Hey, city of Auburn, in the real world that most of us live in, “human resources” departments and human rights offices exist at opposite ends of the pole. While HR exists only to protect the employer's interests, human rights belongs to us, the ordinary, less powerful people who need help when we are discriminated against.

Thank you to the Two Center who agreed with the Cato Town Board's action regarding the Meridian Fire Department. I thought I was the only one!

What “brain trust” decided to repair two main roads into Auburn at the same time - that is - Franklin and Genesee?

Last week's article in The Citizen by Mike Quill was a great article. Mike has righteousness of character to accept and understand.

Councilor McNabb believes in conspiracies and secret meetings. Next he'll be hearing voices and seeing dead people.

" I just watched the Democratic Debate for City Council on this web site. Democrats? Are you serious? That is the best you can come up with? I actually felt sorry for McNabb to have to sit through this. Its not even a race. "

" You know Karl, maybe someone is using a name SIMILAR to yours? Did you ever think that maybe someone has the name KarI- with a capital I which is the same as a lower cased L. Stop assuming the worst in people and take a pill. Maybe if you weren't so ridiculous on this site, people wouldn't try to mimic you. just a thought... "

" Thank you, Candi...You know, what's really sad is that this is the kind of thing that is something right out of grade school; you know, like the common "B movie" standard plot device of writing a love note to the quarterback and signing it with the shy girl's name--really shows the maturity of the person. It goes to show that some people just can't compete on an intellectual level! "

" Having the IP someone used may or may not reveal who s/he is. When I dial in from home, I am dynamically assigned an IP from the pool of IPs provided by my ISP. At work, my IP address is static and I could be easily identified. There are as many ways to hide on the Internet as there are ways to find people. But anyone who sees Karl's posts here regularly knows when someone is pretending to be him -- the things this faker says are so outrageously and obviously not from Karl. The question is -- why doesn't The Citizen's sign-up system check for duplication? Most any place you sign up for a user id will not let you use one which someone else has already taken. This poor system still has a lot of shortcomings.... "

" For a minute I thought karl was bi-polar! Is the citizen having a problem with this IP steal or are you the only person? Are you sure it isn't someone in your house? "

Candi wrote on Sep 13, 2007 9:56 PM:

" It's IP address, not URL address, Karl. "

karl L wrote on Sep 13, 2007 8:31 PM:

" I have contacted the Citizen to alert them that once again someone is using my name to post comments. They have your URL address and I will request that they ban you from the blog here. Shame that you can't think of anything else to add to the discussion. Like anyone would believe that I support The deluded murderer Bush and this bloody, war-for-profit! C-YA, idiot! YOU WILL BE BANNED!!!!! "

" The roads in this town are so bad. East Genesee is the worst. There are so many pot holes. I'm afreaid to even take my car down it. I've never seen a road in such disrepair. "

" Re-arrange the word Cato, and you can come up with taco. Other than that Karl, not too much here to get people's dander up. One exception: Pentangelli--Why is the majority considered to be in the middle ages? I say string up all of the rapists and murderers one minute after they're found guilty, and get it over with. Save my tax dollars for the war effort. "

Pentangelli wrote on Sep 13, 2007 7:02 PM:

" Nearly eight out of ten voted in favor of the death penalty, in the current "Citizen" poll. Congratulations, you once again prove that Auburn is still in the middle ages. "
