A change in leadership is needed at Auburn's city hall.
The people of Auburn have had to put up with the nonsense of two candidates running for mayor, City Councilor David Dempsey, and the incumbent Mayor Tim Lattimore. Dempsey and Lattimore have proven themselves to be the problem with city government, and here are just some of the reasons why:
€ The “brawl at City Hall” made Auburn the laughing stock of upstate New York.
€ They agreed to a severance package ($3,000 worth of “hush money”) for the mayor's former secretary, and neither one of them ever explained their reasons to the taxpayers.
€ They both participated in the inappropriate use of Auburn Industrial Development Authority funds in the fall of 2006.
€ They both participated in illegal meetings with county government officials over development projects in the town of Aurelius, and this has cost the city hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost sales tax revenue.
A change in leadership in the mayor's office is the solution to the Dempsey-Lattimore problem. Mike Quill is a life-long resident of Auburn. He is a family oriented man that has made a career in public service. Mike has been a property owner and taxpayer in Auburn for over three decades. He and his wife, Joan, have raised their family here. There is no other candidate for mayor that can demonstrate such a level of dedication and service to the Auburn community. Mike Quill will bring integrity back to the mayor's office.
The Democratic enrolled voters in the city of Auburn can make change at city hall possible by voting for Mike Quill on Primary Day, Sept. 18.
