Southern Springs benefit is Sept. 26
There is a Southern Springs football benefit from 4 to 10 p.m. on Sept.26 at the Pizza Hut on Grant Ave. in Auburn.Twenty percent of the bill will go to benefit the football program.

Little League board meeting is Sept. 16

Auburn Little League is holding a board meeting at noon on Sunday, Sept. 16 at the Emerson Park baseball field. This season-ending meeting will be to review the books.

Anyone wishing to join the Little League board should attend another meeting at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30 at Emerson Park.For more information, call Dave at 567-9458.

Volleyball sign-ups have begun at Y

The Auburn YMCA-WEIU co-ed volleyball league is currently accepting rosters for the fall session scheduled to begin Sept. 20.The league meets every Thursday night starting at 6:45 p.m.

Both a recreational and competitive league are offered. Each team must have two females on the court.The eight-week league includes one week of playoffs.Registrations are now being taken.

Free scuba trial is Friday at YMCA

Hockey clinics to be held in Skaneateles

There will be Skaneateles hockey clinics at the Skaneateles Community Center on select dates for the following groups:

Mites: Sept. 16, 23, 30

Squirts and Peewees: Sept. 12, 19, 26

Mike Lowe, Auburn varsity hockey coach will instruct the Peewee group and Mike Major will instruct the squirts. Dan Babbage, Mite “A” Coach will be the lead instructor for Mites. Space is limited, for a registration form, visit skaneatlescommunitycenter.com.

Jersey auction runs through September

The Auburn Doubledays are auctioning off all of their 2007 home jerseys to raise money for the Leo A. Pinckney Scholarship Fund. All jerseys will be signed by the player who wore it for the 2007 season.The jerseys are currently being listed on the Minor League Baseball auction site. The jerseys can be accessed through the Doubledays web page at www.auburndoubledays.com.

The auction runs through Sept. 30.

The winners will receive the jersey along with a certificate of authenticity from the Doubledays.

Basketball camp begins Saturday

The Union Springs Saturday morning basketball program will begin on September 15 at Union Springs High School.The program is open for any boy in grades 4-8 who resides in the Union Springs School District. For more information, contact Tim Darnell at 730-6605.
