Wells College golf course vandalized
The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office says it is investigating a criminal mischief incident that took place at the Wells College Golf Course in Aurora last weekend.

At around 3 a.m., Sunday, an unknown person(s) intentionally drove a vehicle onto the course and across several greens, causing severe damage. The damage is estimated to be in the thousands of dollars.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to call Detective Jeffrey Catalfano at 253-1132.

Police file stolen vehicle charges

A pair of Auburn residents face charges that they were using a stolen vehicle, Auburn police said.

Stacee S. Sigl, 21, of 297 Seymour St. in Auburn, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a stolen property, a motor vehicle, third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle for allegedly driving with a revoked license, police said.

An Auburn police officer spotted the 1999 Dodge Caravan that was reported stolen in Syracuse on Friday moving westbound on Arterial. Sigl was driving the vehicle, according to police. The report said she was impaired by drug use.

Marcus Jose Rosado, of 90 North St. Apt. 6D in Auburn, was a passenger in the vehicle, police said. The 35-year-old was arrested on charges of fourth-degree criminal possession of a stolen motor vehicle and third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Democratic debate being held tonight

All five candidates vying for the Democratic nominations for city council or mayoral seats in Auburn have committed to participating in a debate tonight.

Residents will have a chance to ask questions of the candidates at the forum, being sponsored by The Citizen in cooperation with the Auburn Holiday Inn, which starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the hotel on North Street. Candidates for city council will be the first to take questions. The mayoral candidates will follow at 7:15 p.m.

The primaries are being held Sept. 18. The winners of those races take the Democratic line in the November general election.

Pair charged with burglary in Auburn

Auburn police charged a pair with burglary Monday afternoon.

Shannon Terwilliger, 26, of 310 Clark St., Apt. 1, and Daniel Lisano, 19, of 4 Morris St., Auburn, were arrested after police said they allegedly kicked in the door at an Aurelius Avenue entrance around 2 p.m. Police said the duo collected a Playstation, games, DVDs, a television and other items before leaving. Both were charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny. Terwilliger and Lisano were jailed without bail pending arraignment.
