Weedsport's Leitten finds end zone four times

Bryce Leitten ran for two touchdowns and threw for another two as the Weedsport football team defeated Hannibal 30-13 on Saturday.
The Warriors offensive line dominated the game but five turnovers kept Hannibal within striking distance.

Craig Mietz hauled in a 52-yard touchdown pass while Jordan Stott led the ground game with 101 yards on nine carries.

Weedsport (2-0) plays at Bishop Grimes next Saturday.

After winning in its opener, Southern Springs gave up 313 yards rushing to Elmira-Notre Dame.

The Wolves (1-1) host Groton Saturday.

Central Square Invitational

Skaneateles, fifth place

Skaneateles' Sam Smolenski won the race with a time of 17:52. Calvin Davis finished eighth.

The Lakers will participate in pre-sectionals in Jamesville Saturday.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Skaneateles, third place

Rachel Hosie finished fifth, Christina Homeyer was 15th, Alexis Mazzeo was 16th, Kristin Roberts finished 20th, Taylor Wellington was 22nd, Bea Walton was 24th and Becky Flannigan finished 26th.

The JV squad was led by Blair Gage (ninth place), Danielle Mazzeo (11th) and Elyce Buell (20th).

The Lakers compete in pre-sectionals on Saturday.

FIELD HOCKEY

Baldwinsville 8, Auburn 0

Sarah Reese had three saves for the Maroons.

Auburn hosts Moravia on Monday.
